| Arbor delivers all tiers of service to WIA customers. Our goal is to empower individuals with the tools to take charge of their own job search and career advancement processes. Core Services Arbor provides self-directed core services to the universal population of job seekers. Arbor’s resources rooms are equipped with computers, fax machines, telephones, the Internet and other reference material. Assisted Core Arbor provides staff-assisted job search, referrals and follow up, as well as workshops on topics such as resume preparation, interviewing, completing job applications, etc. Intensive Services Arbor provides or coordinates in-depth assessment and career counseling, employment planning, adult basic education activities, GED preparation, and intensive job readiness training and placement assistance for individuals striving to attain self-sufficiency. Training Services Arbor coordinates training on an individual basis for those needing additional assistance, e.g. entrepreneurial training, customized training, on-the-job training, etc. WIA Youth Arbor provides services for both in-school and out-of-school youth who are eligible for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) benefits. Arbor’s WIA Youth Services – recognized by the National Youth Employment Coalition with a 2003 PEPNet Exemplary Youth Program Award presented by the U.S. Department of Labor – incorporate research-based products developed specifically for special-needs youth.
